Here are. some of the news stories relating to the Business School, which made headlines recently:

The Georgian city of Bath is planning to approach the government for the go-ahead to charge its visitors a tourist tax. They are proposing £1+ to be added to the accommodation bills of its million annual tourists.

Over 100 students and professionals picked the brains of some of the events industry’s leading figures at a panel discussion, looking at the challenges and opportunities facing festival organisers this year. Key topics included sustainability and accessibility, media representation of large-scale music events, the value of fringe festivals and whether ‘peak festival’ has been reached.

Brexit is never far from the news these days; in relation to business, UK's Institute of Directors are hoping for a ‘hybrid’ post-Brexit trade deal ie. with a ‘partial customs union' which would not only ease the flow of goods across UK-EU borders, but would also allow the UK to form its own trade agreements.

This article points out that there is a 'vast amount' of work to be done by the UK to ensure planes aren't grounded after exiting the EU. Leading industry figures told MPs that a no-deal Brexit would severely hit aerospace manufacturing in the UK.
